Job summary
Ampact is seeking Reading Tutors for the Reading Corps to help students become strong readers in local schools. You’ll receive training and coaching while delivering proven activities and guiding pairs of students through daily 20-minute reading practice.
Responsibilities include leading sessions, tracking progress with the onsite coach, and participating in ongoing coaching and training. This AmeriCorps role runs August 2026–June 2027 with weekday daytime hours.
Qualifications
- Dependable with good attendance history.
- Ability to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
- Basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- 18+ with high school diploma or equivalent.
- US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
- Able to complete a background check.
Responsibilities
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to provide student support.
- Track student progress and meet with the onsite coach regularly.
- Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into data software.
- Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
- Share experiences with the community.
