Job summary

HDR Rail is seeking an EIT-oriented engineer to join a collaborative, employee-owned team working on rail infrastructure projects across North America. You will contribute to design, calculations and field work while growing technical and professional skills.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree in engineering, EIT/FE readiness, and hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads or MicroStation, and GIS tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering field is required or equivalent.
• EIT certification or plans to obtain licensure.
• FE exam completed or planned to pursue licensure.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads or MicroStation.
• Project/field experience in engineering, transportation or infrastructure.
• Interest in freight rail, transit or port projects.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, construction and delivery of rail projects.
• Assist with calculations, drawings, specs, reports and cost estimates.
• Contribute to track, facilities, civil, environmental and advisory projects.
• Participate in site visits, field assessments and walkthroughs.
• Use design and analytical tools to support project development.
• Research codes and client requirements for compliance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering disciplines.
• Work with engineers, PMs and specialists to grow technical skills.
• Travel periodically for meetings and site assignments.
