Job summary

HDR Rail is seeking an Engineer in Training to join a collaborative, employee‑owned culture. You will gain experience on diverse rail projects across North America, with mentorship from senior engineers and teams.

You will assist with design, calculations, drawings and specifications, and develop skills in Civil 3D, MicroStation, AutoCAD and related tools, with occasional client-site travel to support project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate or plans to pursue licensure.
• Experience with engineering/design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, MicroStation, Revit, GIS).

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design, construction and delivery of rail infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and cost estimates.
• Support site visits, field assessments and project walkthroughs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering and environmental disciplines.
• Develop technical and professional skills with mentorship from senior engineers.
