Job summary

HDR is seeking an EIT-spirited candidate for an entry‑level rail engineering role in a dynamic, owner‑driven culture. You’ll work on planning, design and delivery of rail infrastructure across North America, gaining experience from track to facilities and environmental services.

You will collaborate with mentors and be exposed to design tools such as MicroStation, AutoCAD and Civil 3D while advancing toward licensure and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or plans to pursue licensure.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is required.
• Strong interest in railroad design and infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with industry software such as Civil 3D, OpenRoads, GIS, and Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, construction and delivery of rail infrastructure projects.
• Assist with technical deliverables: calculations, drawings, specs, reports and cost estimates.
• Contribute to projects involving track, facilities, structures and environmental services.
• Participate in site visits, field assessments and project walkthroughs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, environmental, advisory and construction disciplines.
• Travel periodically for project meetings and field assignments.
