Job summary

Amrize is seeking an Equipment Operator to support quarry operations in Manquin, VA. You will safely operate haul trucks and excavators to move aggregate and other materials, while coordinating with site crew.

This role requires at least 2 years of heavy equipment experience, strong safety knowledge and the ability to read blueprints. Expect outdoor work in varied weather and a team-oriented environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience operating excavators and other heavy equipment on construction sites.
• Strong understanding of excavation safety procedures and OSHA compliance standards.
• Safely maneuver around underground utilities and structures to avoid damage.
• Read blueprints, site plans and grade stakes.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for inspections and minor repairs.
• Physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators to dig trenches, foundations and earthmoving tasks safely.
• Operate a haul truck to transport and move aggregate and other materials.
• Load and unload materials using the excavator bucket.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Coordinate excavation activities with site supervisors and crew.
• Follow site plans and safety guidelines to meet project specs.
• Monitor sites for hazards and report malfunctions immediately.
• Backfill and grade areas after excavation and keep accurate logs.
• Promote safety and adherence to health, safety and environmental policies.
