Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Plant Operator at our Manquin, Virginia quarry to operate and monitor crushing, screening and processing equipment, ensuring steady production and strict quality standards. You will adjust controls, perform inspections and routine maintenance, document production data, and coordinate with quarry, maintenance and production teams to keep material moving efficiently while upholding safety policies.

This role requires 2–5 years of related experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience operating equipment in an aggregate quarry or similar industrial setting.
• Experience operating crushers, screens, conveyors and related processing equipment.
• Ability to adjust plant controls to maintain production rates and quality.
• Experience troubleshooting equipment problems and minimizing downtime.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication and basic upkeep.
• Strong understanding of quarry safety procedures and lockout/tagout.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor crushing, screening, conveying, and processing equipment to maintain consistent aggregate production.
• Control and adjust plant operations to optimize production rates, material flow, and product quality.
• Inspect equipment and identify issues before delays or breakdowns.
• Routine maintenance, lubrication, and inspections to support reliability.
• Monitor stockpiles and product specs to meet quality requirements.
• Troubleshoot equipment and minimize downtime while maintaining efficiency.
• Conduct quality checks and sampling to verify specifications.
• Safely operate equipment following safety procedures and quarry regulations.
• Coordinate with quarry, maintenance and production teams to keep material moving.
• Maintain production, inspection and maintenance records and report issues to supervision.
• Promote safety culture and adhere to health, safety and environmental policies.
