Job summary

Prime Controls is seeking a QA/QC Field Inspector to perform inspections and testing of field installed instrumentation and control panels per NEC, UL 508A & 698A standards. You will generate reports highlighting improvement opportunities and work with the team to implement corrective actions.

The role requires a State Journeyman License, 5+ years of related field experience, and the ability to power/test 120 VAC, 24 VDC, and 480 VAC safely. Overtime and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• AA in Electrical Technology or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Five plus years in a related field with field QA/QC experience.
• Valid State Journeyman License.
• Ability to power up/test 120 VAC, 24 VDC, 480 VAC safely.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and read drawings.
• Availability for overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed.
• Familiarity with P&IDs, wiring, and control panels under UL NEC standards.
• Experience with customer software: ProCore, CxAlloy, BIM360 Field.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control inspections and testing of field instruments and Control Panels.
• Develop written reports with improvement opportunities based on findings.
• Communicate findings to team members for performance improvements.
• Analyze quality findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Visually verify BOMs, wiring tags, components, and wiring origins.
• Adhere to safety and environmental rules to ensure site safety.
