Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. is a leading systems integration and I&C construction firm with a nationwide presence and a Dallas, Texas headquarters.

We seek a QA/QC Field Inspector to perform quality control inspections and testing of field-installed instrumentation devices and control panels, following NEC, UL 508A and 698A standards and project drawings. The role requires a 2-year electrical degree or equivalent, 5+ years of related experience, a State Journeyman license, and proficiency with PLCs,

Qualifications

• AA Electrical Technology or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• 5+ years of experience in a related field.
• State Journeyman License.
• Ability to power up and test 120 VAC, 24VDC, and 480V electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
• Overtime or weekends may be required per schedule.
• Ability to work with conduit, fittings, ducts, and cabinets.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and tubing drawings.
• Experience with customer software: ProCore, CxAlloy, BIM360 Field.
• Familiarity with PLCs and instrument loops (4–20mA).
• Clear corrective-action writing and follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Develop written reports with improvement opportunities based on findings.
• Communicate findings to team to improve performance.
• Analyze quality findings and recommend corrective actions to minimize recurrence.
• Properly use electrical test equipment.
• Visually verify BOMs for panels and devices.
• Test electrical components and verify wiring tags.
• Adhere to safety and environmental rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
