Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. is seeking a QA/QC Field Inspector to perform quality control inspections and testing of field-installed instrumentation devices and control panels.

You will follow NEC, UL 508A/698A standards and project drawings and specs while supporting a nationwide client base from our Dallas, TX area operations. The role requires 5+ years in related field, a state journeyman license, and the ability to power up and test multiple voltages.

Qualifications

• AA Electrical Technology or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school.
• 5+ years of related field experience.
• State Journeyman License.
• Ability to power up/test 120 VAC, 24 VDC, and 480 V systems safely.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits.
• Ability and willingness to overtime as needed per schedule.
• Interpret P&IDs and tubing drawings for correct installation.
• Familiar with PLCs and instrument loops (4-20mA).
• Experience with wiring, fabrication, and testing of control panels (UL 508A/698A).

Responsibilities

• Develop written reports showing opportunities for improvement based on findings.
• Communicate findings to team members to improve performance.
• Analyze quality findings and propose corrective actions to minimize recurrence.
• Properly use electrical test equipment and verify BOMs.
• Visually verify wiring tags and bill of materials for panels and instruments.
• Adhere to safety and environmental rules to protect staff and public.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
