Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. is hiring a QA/QC Field Inspector to perform quality control inspections and testing of field-installed instrumentation and control panels. You will follow NEC, UL 508A & 698A, site drawings and specifications to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance.

You will analyze findings, communicate improvements, and verify components, wiring, and BOM accuracy while upholding safety and environmental standards in a field setting across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (AA) Electrical Technology or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• 5+ years of experience in a related field.
• State Journeyman License.
• Ability to power up and test 120 VAC, 24VDC, and 480V voltage electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
• Works overtime or weekends, when necessary, according to the schedule.
• Ability to work extended hours when required.
• Ability to work with conduit, fittings, ducts, and cabinets to manipulate wires.
• Understand and interpret P&IDs and tubing drawings for correct installation.
• Knowledge of ProCore, CxAlloy, BIM360 Field.
• Understanding of PLCs and instrument loops (4-20mA).

Responsibilities

• Develop written reports illustrating opportunities for improvement based on factual findings.
• Communicate to team members in a facilitative manner on how to improve performance.
• Analyze quality findings and provide corrective actions to minimize recurrence.
• Use electrical test equipment and related tools properly.
• Visually verify BOMs for panels and instrumentation devices.
• Verify, test, and trace wiring origins and designations for accuracy.
• Adhere to safety and environmental rules to protect people and public safety.
