Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. seeks a QA/QC Field Inspector to perform quality control inspections and testing of field-installed instrumentation devices and control panels, following NEC, UL 508A & 698A standards and site drawings.

Responsibilities include reporting, advising on improvements, and verifying wiring and bill of materials. Qualifications require an AA in Electrical Technology or equivalent, 5+ years' experience, and a State Journeyman License.

Qualifications

• AA Electrical Technology or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• 5+ years of experience in a related field.
• State Journeyman License.
• Ability to power up and test 120 VAC, 24VDC, and 480V systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
• Work overtime or weekends as needed.
• Ability to work extended hours.
• Ability to work with conduit, fittings, and panels.
• Understand P&IDs and tubing drawings.
• Familiar with customer software packages (ProCore, CxAlloy, BIM360 Field).
• Strong understanding of electrical wiring, fabrication, and testing in UL 508A/698A environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop written reports with opportunities for improvement based on findings.
• Communicate findings to team for performance improvements.
• Analyze quality findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Use electrical test equipment and verify components and wiring.
• Verify BOMs for panels and instrumentation devices.
• Test and trace wiring origins and designations for accuracy.
• Adhere to safety and environmental regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
