Job summary

AES is seeking a Lead Technical Trainer for AES Clean Energy O&M to develop and manage a renewable technical training program for Solar, Wind, and Battery technicians. You will support and execute the Training Team’s objectives, coordinating development and delivery across field operations and corporate teams.

The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of hands-on PV/O&M experience, strong communication, and experience with curriculum development, SOPs, LMS tools, and technical training

Qualifications

• 4+ years of field operations and maintenance on utility-scale PV or PV+BESS sites.
• Experience on 3+ utility-scale PV sites.
• Central inverter, medium voltage transformer maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Diagnosing PV module issues from performance and manufacturing.
• Diagnosing PV ground faults.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• 3+ years in technical training, peer-mentorship, and/or curriculum development.
• 2+ years as a senior technician in PV/BESS O&M; wind/thermal experience welcome.
• 2+ years with a large energy company managing PV/PV+BESS sites.
• Certified on 2+ central inverter OEM trainings.
• LMS and e-learning tools experience (Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia).

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Manager of Training on executing the vision and managing the program.
• Lead training content development in digital formats for virtual and in-person formats.
• Develop, vet, and curate content with SMEs for curriculum development.
• Review and improve internal and outsourced training content.
• Anticipate new technologies and integrate appropriate training.
• Coordinate with OEM vendors to enhance training offerings.
• Close gaps between AES Training Program and OEM training with new curricula.
• Manage OEM training across six regions with a single point of contact.
