Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Lead Technical Trainer for its AES CE O&M Technical Training Team in Salt Lake City. The role focuses on developing and delivering technical training programs for Solar/Wind/Battery technicians, coordinating with field engineers, and driving improvements in safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate has extensive PV field experience, a passion for mentoring others, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

4+ years of field operations and maintenance experience on utility-scale PV or PV+BESS sites.
Experience on 3+ different utility-scale PV sites.
In-depth knowledge of PV systems: central inverter, MV transformer, troubleshooting.
Ability to diagnose PV module issues and ground faults.
Strong communication and ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
3+ years in technical training, mentorship or curriculum development.

Responsibilities

Support Senior Manager of Training on executing the vision and managing the training program.
Lead training content development for digital formats and in-person applications.
Coordinate with SMEs and instructional designers for curriculum development and resources.
Review and improve training content; anticipate new technologies for upcoming projects.
Manage OEM training vendors and 6 regional POCs for completions and recertifications.
Provide remote and hands-on training, increase engagement, and support process improvement.
Develop and improve training processes for scalability, tracking and repeatability.
Foster a training culture and ensure effective communication between field operations and training teams.
