Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting or a Master's in accounting/tax.
• GPA of at least 3.0.
• On track to sit for CPA or CIA exam.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial staffing and related consulting support to public sector clients (cities, villages, libraries, K-12 school districts).
• Assist with accounting and finance functions including bank reconciliations, budget development, year-end close, and audit preparation.
• Verify, post, and classify client transactions from documents to journals or files.
• Prepare entries in general ledger and other financial reports summarizing position.
• Work independently or in teams to improve client accounting operations, including drafting policies and procedures.
• Analyze assets, liabilities, and equity to prepare balance sheets and income statements.
• Collaborate with consultants and clients for continuous improvement recommendations.
