Qualifications

• Detail-oriented leader with problem solving, communication, organizational, technical and analytical skills.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting; or Master's degree in accounting or tax.
• Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0).
• Preferred: On track to complete the requisite degree and supporting credits to sit for the CPA or CIA exam, with the goal of obtaining the CIA or CPA license.

Responsibilities

• Providing financial staffing and related consulting support to public sector clients (cities, villages, libraries, K-12 school districts, etc…).
• Assisting our public clients with their accounting and finance functions including bank reconciliations, budget development, year-end close, and annual audit preparation.
• Verifies, allocates, and posts client transactions to subsidiary accounts from documents like bank statements, invoices, receipts, and check stubs.
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.
• Working independently or in teams to improve client accounting operations including drafting policies and procedures.
• Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and equity, and prepares balance sheets and income statements.
• Collaborating with other consultants and clients for continuous improvement recommendations.
• Training and development opportunities for professional, personal and technical growth.
