Job summary

Knowledge Services is hiring an Eligibility Specialist to assist Indiana residents with public assistance applications. The role involves collecting data, verifying documents, obtaining records, and determining eligibility for TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid.

Candidates should have experience in social services and strong communication skills. The position requires 37.5 hours weekly, Monday-Friday, with an emphasis on accurate data entry and customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years' experience in a social service environment, state or local government desired.
• Previous Case Manager or Eligibility Specialist experience encouraged to apply.
• Strong customer service background with professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Gathers data for all relevant assistance programs from clients face-to-face or by phone.
• Verifies information meets state policies and requirements.
• Obtains release forms and medical records as needed.
• Verifies income, assets, and other financial/legal documents.
• Reviews program regulations and requirements with clients.
• Utilizes automated tool to determine eligibility for state programs.
• Performs data entry into the state database.
• Responds to inquiries by phone or email in a timely manner.
