Job summary

Knowledge Services, serving the Indiana public assistance programs, is seeking an Eligibility Specialist to assist in processing applications for TANF, SNAP and Medicaid. The role involves data gathering, document verification, and client communication from Indianapolis, IN 46224 and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will have 2 years of social service experience, strong computer skills, and a degree in counseling or social services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred; HS diploma acceptable.
• 2 years’ experience in a social service environment or government setting desired.
• Experience as Case Manager or Eligibility Specialist encouraged.
• Strong computer and data-entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather data for all relevant assistance programs face-to-face or by phone.
• Verify information meets state policies and obtain release forms/medical records as needed.
• Verify income, assets and other financial documents.
• Review regulations and program requirements with clients.
• Utilize automated systems to determine eligibility and perform data entry.
• Respond to inquiries via phone or email in a timely manner.
