Job summary

Knowledge Services in Scottsburg, IN is hiring an Eligibility Specialist to assist Indiana residents with public assistance applications (TANF, SNAP, Medicaid) under the DFR. You will verify information, collect documents, and determine eligibility using state systems, supporting high-quality data entry and client communication.

The role requires strong organizational, analytical, and customer service skills, with 2 years in social services preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree preferred in Counseling or Social Services.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years’ experience in a social service environment is desired to pertain to employment/training programs.
• Previous experience as a Case Manager, Eligibility Specialist, Eligibility Associate, Office Manager, Call Center Customer Service Specialist, or Client Specialist encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Eligibility Specialists gather data for all relevant assistance programs either face-to-face or via phone with clients
• Verify all information is gathered accurately and meets state policies
• Obtain release forms and medical records as needed
• Verify income, assets, and other financial / legal documents
• Review regulations and program requirements with clients
• Utilize automated program to determine eligibility of state assistance programs
• Data entry into state database
• Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner via phone or email
