Job summary

West Virginia is seeking a program assistant to process applications and determine eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid and related aid. You will schedule telephone and in-person interviews and conduct interviews to gather financial and social information from clients.

Responsibilities include maintaining an updated caseload, referring clients to supportive services, and, when needed, recovering benefits issued in error. A valid driver's license may be required and probationary period is 1 year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Process applications and determine eligibility for economic assistance programs.
• Schedule and conduct telephone and face-to-face interviews with clients.
• Maintain an up-to-date client caseload and refer to supportive services as needed.
• Oversee a caseload for programs including SNAP, Medicaid, Emergency Assistance, and School Clothing Vouchers.
• Obtain repayment from clients for erroneous benefits when applicable.
