Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Substitution: any combination of experience in direct client services may substitute for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
• Other substitution options include customer service, telemarketing, retail or clerical work substituting year-for-year.
• Successful college coursework substitutions apply, with 30 credit hours equaling one year of training.
• Experience in Economic Services work that involves program eligibility decisions may substitute for the training at the rate of one year equals two years of training.
• Special Requirement: A valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Process applications for a variety of economic assistance programs (e.g., SNAP, Medicaid, Emergency Assistance/LIEAP, School Clothing Vouchers).
• Schedule telephone and face-to-face interviews and conduct personal interviews with clients.
• Determine eligibility for services and maintain an up-to-date client caseload.
• Refer clients to supportive services and agencies as needed.
• May obtain repayment when benefits were issued erroneously.
