Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's DFW Home Health division is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to implement treatment plans, educate patients, and support the care team in home care settings. The role emphasizes adherence to the plan of care and coordination with the supervising Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities include patient instruction in exercises, gait, and activities of daily living, with focus on improving wellbeing and functional outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care and act within the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instructs patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADLs and transfer techniques.
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT and care team.
• Educate patient, family, and care team on therapy within the PTA scope.
• Provide care in diverse home settings regardless of patient demographics.
