Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, through DFW Home Health, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment, provide exercise instruction and patient education to improve well-being per the plan of care. Primary responsibilities include aiding patients with exercises, monitoring progress, and coordinating with the care team in a home-health setting.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Following state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care; follow treatment plan defined by supervising PT.
• Instructs patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional activities, ADL, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment; coordinates care with healthcare team.
• Instructs patient, family and caregivers in therapy within the PTA scope.
• Functioning in diverse home environments regardless of age, race, creed, or condition.
