Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to lead protection and control system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting across substation and industrial sites throughout North America. The role emphasizes safety leadership, project execution, and customer interaction.

Responsibilities include advanced end-to-end testing, relay setting validation, and delivering detailed reports. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience, relevant degrees, and NETA certification

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen required.
• Criminal background check required.
• Overtime and travel to job sites required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings and enforce safety policies at job sites.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and related systems.
• Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and functional testing of relay panels and associated equipment.
• Read and validate protection schematics and system configurations.
• Lead root-cause analysis for relay trips and disturbances.
• Develop project execution plans, outage sequences, and energization plans.
• Prepare comprehensive test and commissioning reports and as-built documentation.
• Mentor Relay Technician I/II and junior engineers; interface with customers and stakeholders.
