Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician for a Garden property in New York. The role runs Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with a rotating on-call schedule.

You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and manage make-ready tasks for vacant units to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper functionality across common areas. Responsibilities include inventory control, documentation of service requests, and assisting in grounds maintenance.

Qualifications

• EPA Type 1/II or Universal refrigerant recycling certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required to operate a golf cart on property where applicable.
• All state and local certifications must be maintained as required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose the source of defects and perform repairs per policies, procedures, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Complete the make-ready process to prepare vacant apartments for leasing and new move-ins.
• Track materials and tools from the maintenance dept and notify supervisor when re-ordering is needed.
• Complete documentation for service requests in a timely, accurate manner.
• Assist in maintaining grounds, common areas, and amenities including cleaning and painting as needed.
• Support cost-saving by fixing rather than replacing parts when possible.
