Job summary

Avenue5 Residential is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to support apartment communities in Reno. You will perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC and grounds maintenance while prioritizing resident satisfaction and curb appeal.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year in property maintenance, a valid driver's license, and your ability to read and write English. We offer competitive benefits, on‑site training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and current auto insurance.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Ability to use general office equipment, such as telephone, fax machine, printer, copier, and key track system.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs across electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds as directed.
• Conduct general carpentry work: wallboard repair, cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass, door/lock, tile repair.
• Carry out preventative maintenance: siding, painting, lighting, sprinklers, pool, elevator, and more.
• Maintain work order system and ensure timely completion to company standards and resident satisfaction.
• Inspect property grounds and common areas to uphold safety and cleanliness, identifying issues for repair.
• Assist with emergencies (snow removal, fires, floods) and communicate issues to leadership.
• Promote safety and risk management per local, state, and company rules; participate in on-call after-hours shifts.
• Foster courteous, professional interactions with current and prospective residents; uphold curb appeal and cleanliness.
• Contribute to a positive relationship with residents, other properties, and agencies.
• Present a professional demeanor and support the company risk management program.
