Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor and help keep the property in top condition. You will collaborate with the leasing team to support renewals and leasing opportunities while prioritizing safety and policy compliance.

You will diagnose minor maintenance issues, perform routine tasks on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliances, and assist with on-call coverage and inspections. A valid driver's license and basic hand tools are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of full-time apartment maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA refrigerant handling certification required.
• Strong verbal and written English; Spanish a plus.
• Own a basic set of hand tools and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours.
• Manage system for handling service requests and on-call rotation.
• Follow policies and laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).
• Distribute flyers and other materials.
• Keep safety materials current and inspect property for hazards.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance and make-ready status.
• Schedule and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Assist with inspections and standby emergency coverage.
