Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor and steward the property's physical condition. You will partner with the leasing team to maximize renewals while ensuring safety first and adherence to policy.

You will handle residents' service requests within 24 hours, perform routine electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related tasks, and keep accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of full-time apartment maintenance or related trade experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA refrigerant certification.
• Strong verbal and written English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Own a basic set of hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record and auto insurance.
• Ability to work at other locations and travel within major metropolitan areas.
• Ability to work weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests within 24 hours.
• Assist in scheduling on-call rotation and provide support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA and company policies.
• Assist with distributing flyers and materials.
• Maintain safety materials and address unsafe conditions promptly.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance and make-readies for vacancies.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and related systems.
• Handle on-call duties and standby emergency coverage.
• Prepare property for inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the property manager or Regional Community Supervisor.
