Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance who supports the maintenance supervisor and helps preserve the property's physical integrity while partnering with the leasing team to maximize renewals.

You will perform routine maintenance, handle service requests within 24 hours when possible, and stay compliant with ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA, and company policies. A valid driver's license and basic tools required.

Qualifications

2 years of full-time apartment maintenance experience or a related trade.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
EPA refrigerant certification is required.
Strong verbal and written English; Spanish a plus.
Own a basic set of hand tools.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record and auto insurance.
Ability to travel to other locations and work some weekends.

Responsibilities

Complete resident service requests within 24 hours when possible.
Assist in scheduling on-call rotation and provide maintenance support as needed.
Follow company policies and all state/federal laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).
Maintain preventive maintenance records and make-ready status of vacancies.
Perform routine maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related systems.
Assist in preparing the property for inspections.
