Job summary

Middleburg Communities is seeking a Service Technician to support maintenance and grounds services for our apartment communities. You will assist in rehab and turnover work, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure market-ready units meet quality standards.

The role requires strong English communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 75 lb. On-call weekend coverage and safety practices are part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in apartment maintenance including plumbing, painting, drywall, and life safety.
• Knowledge of asbestos/lead-related regulations is preferred.
• HVAC knowledge and CFC Type I & III or Universal is a plus.
• Strong English communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Complete apartment turns and upgrades within set timelines.
• Conduct housekeeping and grounds work as needed up to 50% of time.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies; track repair status.
• Respond to resident work orders within 24 hours when possible.
• Ensure safety compliance and participate in safety meetings.
• Assist with move-outs and rehab projects.
• Walk the property daily for curb appeal and safety issues.
