Job summary

Middleburg Communities is seeking a Service Technician to maintain and rehabilitate apartment homes, oversee turns, and deliver excellent curb appeal. The role requires hands-on maintenance across plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, with a focus on safety and resident satisfaction.

The position includes on-call duties, weekends, and after-hours emergencies as part of a collaborative maintenance team. A high school diploma and HVAC knowledge are required, with benefits supporting health,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in most areas of apartment maintenance including plumbing, painting, drywall, appliance repair, electrical, locks, carpentry, roofs and life safety equipment.
• HVAC knowledge and CFC Type I & III or Universal certification.
• Lead, asbestos, renovations/repairs certifications preferred.
• At least 2 years in apartment maintenance or 3+ years in related field.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic computer skills in Windows environment, able to use mobile device or PC.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Oversee apartment turns and renovations with 3–5 day downtime for upgrades.
• Manage inventory, track repairs, and schedule turnover checklists.
• Complete resident-requested repairs within 24 hours where possible.
• Provide on-call and after-hours emergency service as required.
• Maintain curb appeal, safety, and compliance with company policies.
