Job summary

Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors is seeking Maintenance Technicians to perform routine and preventative upkeep across our communities in Illinois. You will handle home and facility repairs, lawn care, snow removal when needed, and maintain safe, presentable grounds for residents.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, strong customer service to residents, and the ability to work independently or in a team, with on-call duties and a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 months maintenance experience in apartments or manufactured housing.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work on-call shifts and independently or with a team.
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance to keep Sun communities in good condition.
• Complete minor repairs to rental homes and facilities as needed.
• Inspect and maintain irrigation, water meters, and related systems.
• Keep common areas and grounds clean; remove trash and debris daily.
• Snow removal from streets, parking lots, and entrances when applicable.
• Ensure safety and curb appeal standards across the community.
