Job summary

Sun Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance across its communities. You will handle repairs, grounds care, irrigation, snow removal, and safety tasks to keep properties inviting and functional.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 6 months of maintenance experience (preferred), a valid driver’s license, and ability to lift 50 lbs. On-call availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required (or equivalent).
• 6 months maintenance experience in apartment/manufactured housing preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work on-call schedule.
• Outdoor work with temperature fluctuations.
• Basic computer proficiency (email/internet).
• General knowledge of plumbing/electrical/grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance across Sun Communities properties.
• Complete minor repairs to rental homes and facilities.
• Inspect irrigation and water systems; read meters if applicable.
• Maintain vacant sites, trash/debris removal and grounds upkeep.
• Snow removal on community streets and facilities as needed.
• Ensure safety and curb appeal; keep facilities clean and presentable.
• Assist supervision of service contractors and inspect amenities.
• Report issues to management promptly.
