Job summary

Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors in Temecula, CA seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our communities. You will handle repairs, grounds care, snow removal where applicable, and ensure our properties are clean, safe and welcoming for residents.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months in maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. This role requires independence, teamwork, and basic computer skills to report on work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months maintenance experience in apartment/manufactured housing preferred.
• 6 months snow removal experience preferred.
• 6 months general maintenance knowledge preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying temperatures.
• Proficient with hand tools, power equipment and commercial machinery.
• Able to work on-call when required.
• General plumbing, electrical and grounds maintenance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily maintenance and cleanliness of common areas and streets.
• Repairs minor issues in rental homes and facilities.
• Inspects irrigation systems and performs repairs as needed.
• Maintains vacant sites and removes trash.
• Clears snow from community areas using plow or related equipment.
• Maintains lawns and performs landscaping duties.
• Ensures community streets and access routes are hazard-free.
• Performs water testing and maintenance on well/sewer systems as applicable.
• Reports maintenance issues to management.
• Completes pre/post-occupancy condition checklists.
• Keeps the community presentable and adheres to curb appeal standards.
• Cleans buildings and maintenance facilities.
• Assists manager with supervising contractors.
• Inspects playgrounds, pools, and recreation areas for safety.
• Assists with move-in/move-out spotting.
• Maintains community pools and vehicles; tests chemical levels.
• Follows safety procedures and operates vehicles to move between sites.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.
