Job summary

Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors is seeking Maintenance Technicians to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our communities, ensuring clean, safe, and inviting homes and grounds. You will handle repairs, operate tools and equipment, winter snow removal where applicable, and provide dependable service to residents while following safety procedures.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, physical fitness to lift 50 lbs, valid driver’s license, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months in maintenance experience in the apartment or manufactured housing industry preferred.
• 6 months in snow removal experience (preferred).
• 6 months in general maintenance techniques and repair work preferred.
• Ability to endure outdoor work in varying temperatures.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Basic computer proficiency, including email and internet use.
• Ability to work on-call schedule.
• Proficient with hand tools, power equipment and commercial machinery.
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Ensures trash/debris is picked up daily from common areas and streets.
• Completes minor repairs to rental homes and facilities.
• Inspects irrigation systems and makes repairs as needed.
• Maintains vacant sites and removes trash.
• Removes snow from community streets and entrances as applicable.
• Maintains manicured lawns and treatments for weeds.
• Ensures community streets and routes are hazard-free.
• Reports maintenance issues to the manager.
• Cleans clubhouses, offices, restrooms, laundry areas, and maintenance spaces.
• Assists supervisor with service contractors and on-site inspections.
