AppleOne Employment Services, a growth-oriented general contractor in Phoenix, AZ, seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead ground-up and renovation projects. You will manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client communication from preconstruction through closeout.

The role requires 5+ years of PM experience with large-scale projects and travel within AZ and beyond. Strong leadership and planning skills are essential in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Experience managing ground-up and large-scale projects ($12M+).
  • Proven ability to lead buyout, scheduling, budgets, and change orders.
  • Strong knowledge of sequencing, site development, building systems, codes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, specs, contracts, scopes of work.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and MS Project.
  • Willingness to travel within Arizona and out of state.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ground-up and renovation projects from mobilization through closeout.
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, cost forecasting, commitments, change orders, and subcontractor performance.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement, scope review, contract admin, invoices, draws, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, owners, architects, engineers, subs, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Participate in OAC meetings and maintain professional client communication.
  • Proactively identify construction challenges and support safety procedures.

Job Summary

A growing general contractor in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with strong commercial, multifamily, renovation, hospitality, or affordable housing project experience. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a proactive construction leader who can manage projects from preconstruction and buyout through construction, closeout, and client turnover. The Project Manager will oversee ground-up construction and complex renovation projects while managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, documentation, client communication, and overall project performance. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage one or more ground-up and renovation construction projects from preconstruction, buyout, and mobilization through completion and closeout.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, cost forecasting, commitments, change orders, subcontractor performance, and overall financial results.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement, scope review, contract administration, invoice approvals, monthly draw documentation, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in OAC meetings and maintain professional client communication regarding progress, schedule, quality, risks, and changes.
  • Proactively identify construction challenges, resolve issues, support safety procedures, and help maintain strong client relationships for repeat business.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $100,000 to $125,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Manage ground-up construction projects from mobilization through completion and closeout.
  • Oversee multifamily, apartment, affordable housing, hospitality, hotel renovation, or related commercial construction projects.
  • Manage project buyout, subcontractor coordination, schedules, budgets, change orders, OAC meetings, documentation, and client communication.
  • Partner with field leadership to coordinate construction activities, resolve issues, and maintain safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance.
  • 5+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing ground-up construction projects.
  • Experience managing large-scale construction projects, ideally with contract values of $12M or more.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, site development, building systems, trade coordination, construction procedures, and applicable building codes.
  • Experience with scheduling, buyout, subcontractor management, cost control, forecasting, change orders, risk assessment, safety protocols, and contract administration.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, problem-solving, and client relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to anticipate project challenges and resolve issues before they impact schedule, budget, quality, or client satisfaction.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to projects within Arizona and out of state when required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience with multifamily housing, apartment construction or renovation, affordable housing, hospitality, hotel renovation, or closely related construction projects.
  • Experience using JobPlanner, Sage 300, and/or Sage Timberline Estimating.
  • Experience working with a general contractor in a fast-paced, client-focused construction environment.
