Responsibilities

• Conduct residential site visits, progress walks, quality inspections, and punch list reviews across assigned construction projects.
• Verify subcontractor work against approved scopes, safety requirements, schedules, quantities, and program specifications.
• Review subcontractor pay applications, confirm completed work, and support accurate project reporting.
• Coordinate permitting, utility releases, inspection scheduling, photo documentation, and project file compliance.
• Serve as an on-site contact for homeowners while identifying schedule risks, scope changes, and quality concerns for escalation.

The Assistant Construction Manager will support residential construction, restoration, and reconstruction projects by managing scopes of work, estimates, change orders, documentation, field inspections, subcontractor coordination, and quality verification. Key Responsibilities

Compensation and Benefits

• Direct hire opportunity.
• Salary range: $80,000 to $90,000 per year.
• Location: Asheville, NC.
• Hybrid role with approximately half of the week in the office and half of the week in the field.
• Regular travel to residential construction sites throughout the Asheville area is required.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Manage residential construction scopes, estimates, change orders, and project documentation.

• Strong understanding of residential construction processes, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control.
• Demonstrated ability to create clear, accurate, and defensible scopes of work.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

• Strong organizational, communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to balance office responsibilities with regular field activity.

• Experience with CDBG-DR, FEMA, or HUD-funded construction or recovery programs.

• Strong photo documentation, compliance tracking, and program reporting experience.
