Job Summary

A Portland-based electrical construction team is seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer to support commercial and residential construction projects from planning through closeout. This direct hire opportunity is well-suited for a Project Coordinator, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Engineer with 3 to 5 years of construction experience who is ready to continue growing in project management.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of electrical construction projects.
• Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Coordinate material procurement, purchasing, and vendor communication to support project timelines.
• Assist with schedules, cost tracking, budgets, billing, and project reporting.
• Maintain accurate project records, monitor deadlines, and support project closeout activities.
• Communicate with field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to help resolve project issues.

Compensation and Benefits

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Support electrical construction project coordination, documentation, and communication.
• Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, costs, and closeout requirements.
• Coordinate purchasing, materials, vendor communication, and project records.
• Work with project managers and field teams to keep projects organized and moving forward.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in construction project coordination, project engineering, assistant project management, or a related role.
• Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and standard construction documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with construction management software.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with project managers, field teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Collaborative, proactive, and solution-focused approach to project support.
• Interest in building a long-term career in construction project management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrical construction experience.
• Experience supporting commercial, office, residential, or mixed construction projects.
• Previous experience as a Project Coordinator, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Engineer.
• Working knowledge of project budgets, billing, procurement, and cost tracking.
