Job Summary

We are seeking a Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity with a growing mechanical contracting team in Downers Grove, IL. This role supports plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical construction projects across industrial facilities and infrastructure environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager who enjoys managing construction projects from preconstruction through completion while working closely with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction projects from planning and preconstruction through final completion.
• Coordinate project activity with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Review project plans, specifications, schedules, budgets, documentation, and change orders.
• Track project costs, timelines, materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor performance.
• Attend project meetings, monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain strong stakeholder communication.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with customer expectations.

Compensation and Benefits

• Direct hire opportunity.
• Salary range: $80,000 to $120,000 per year.
• Location: Downers Grove, IL.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Manage plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical construction projects.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, documentation, costs, and change orders.
• Coordinate materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Support projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Experience in mechanical contracting, plumbing, fire protection, or a related construction environment.
• Project management experience preferred, with consideration for strong industry professionals looking to move into project management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, plans, and project documentation.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with construction or project management software is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior project management experience with mechanical construction projects.
• Experience supporting industrial facilities or infrastructure construction projects.
• Familiarity with construction project management software.
• Background coordinating with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and field labor teams.
