Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Project Controls Consultant to join its Earth & Environment Operations team in Texas and Louisiana. You will support project delivery, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and contract compliance across environmental and engineering projects.

Responsibilities include monitoring budgets and schedules, coordinating with subcontractors, preparing change orders, and ensuring accurate reporting to project managers. A strong communicator with 3–5 years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance with relevant environmental/engineering exposure preferred.
  • 3–5 years of project controls, coordination, or financial management experience.
  • Foundational understanding of project management principles and best practices.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial, schedule, and project documentation.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with project teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience in engineering/environmental consulting or professional services is desirable.
  • PMP certification is an asset; travel flexibility required.

Responsibilities

  • Support project delivery, financial performance, scheduling, forecasting, and resource management.
  • Monitor and control budgets, expenditures, and overall performance.
  • Provide updates on project status, controls, and forecasting trends to managers.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for work orders and payments.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules, identify risks and corrective actions.
  • Ensure client invoicing requirements and support invoice preparation.
  • Assist with HSE program development and tracking.
  • Document client interactions, meeting outcomes, and decisions.
  • Identify scope changes and prepare change orders to support contract management.
  • Coordinate staff assignments and resource requirements.
  • Serve as client-facing representative as directed by management.
  • Prepare and distribute project deliverables and regulatory documentation.
  • Maintain project records in document management systems.
  • Support proposal development and project closeout activities.
