Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Project Controls Consultant to join the Earth & Environment Operations team in Texas and Louisiana, supporting lifecycle project controls, financial performance, and scheduling across diverse environmental projects.

The ideal candidate will have a Finance degree with environment/engineering exposure, 3–5 years in project controls, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat. Willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance; environmental science, engineering, or related technical field coursework/experience preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in project controls, project coordination, financial management, or related disciplines.
  • Foundational understanding of project management principles and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial, schedule, and project documentation.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing project demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to learn new processes, systems and procedures quickly while focusing on client service.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, collaborative, and solution-focused.
  • Proficiency with project management and business software, especially Oracle Primavera P6, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • PMI/PMP certification is a plus; experience in engineering/environmental consulting is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to support project and client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and coordinate projects per the Project Delivery Manual and quality procedures.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, expenditures, schedules, and performance.
  • Provide updates on project status, controls, and forecasting to managers.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors including work orders and payments.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules; identify risks and variances.
  • Ensure client invoicing requirements are met and support collections.
  • Assist in implementing Health, Safety, and Environment plans.
  • Facilitate project communications and document key decisions.
  • Identify scope changes and prepare change orders.
  • Review resource needs and assign staff and work orders.
  • Serve as client-facing representative as directed by managers.
  • Coordinate delivery of project deliverables and documentation.
  • Support proposal development and submissions.
  • Lead project closeout activities and lessons learned.
