Job summary

Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital is seeking a Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality nursing care. The role involves assessing patient status, coordinating between Med-Surg and ICU, and developing care plans to improve patient outcomes.

Candidates must hold an RN license with at least 1 year of experience; BSN is preferred. ACLS/CPR and BLS are required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• RN license required in state
• 1 year RN experience required
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred, not required

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status with strong organizational and leadership skills
• Coordinate care as the link between Med-Surg and ICU units
• Develop and implement patient care plans to improve outcomes
• Administer medications per policies and procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
