Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care (Step down) unit at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. The role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care, coordinating between Med-Surg and ICU, and developing care plans to improve patient outcomes.

The position requires at least 1 year of RN experience, a current RN license, and a PRN schedule of 24 hours across a 6-week period. BSN is preferred but not required, with ACLS/BLS as noted.

Qualifications

• RN with at least 1 year of experience.
• PRN schedule—must work 24 hours within a 6-week period.
• BSN preferred but not required.
• Current state RN licensure; BLS/ACLS preferred at hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyze data, create and implement a plan of care, and evaluate effectiveness.
• Serve as point of contact for patient care coordination across departments.
• Act as patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement.
• Administer medications in a safe manner per policy and practice; other duties as assigned.
