Job description

Ensera is looking for a highly motivated Production Supervisor to join our team. In this role as a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible and have the authority to supervise, co‑coordinate, direct and control the activities of team members to produce within budgeted costs, the assigned production outputs to acceptable quality standards on schedule with minimum waste and downtime commensurate with customer requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain effective production outputs to meet company objectives and customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective programmes so shift KPI’s are achieved. This includes:
  • Agreeing shift KPI’s with Site Director.
  • Ensure adequate measurements are in place so that shift KPI’s can be monitored and reported accurately on a timely basis to the Site Director.
  • Sets realistic goals for Team Members and monitor performance against these standards.
  • Implement projects and improvement enhancement programs in relation to:
  • Production efficiency/process improvement
  • Material cost/waste reduction
  • Implementation of Lean Manufacturing
  • Liaison with other departments to ensure that all services are available for production and where there are problems ensure those responsible are notified so that appropriate action is taken to minimize the disruption to our customers.
  • Communicate, with, motivate, and develop through regular performance reviews including annual reviews, involvement in target setting and through routine exchanges in free and accurate information.
  • Establish and maintain good industrial relations in line with company policy/procedures as set out in the personnel manual and employee handbook. Ensure are aware of and adhere to company policies as set forth in the employee handbook.
  • Ensure that all production operating and training procedures/manuals are adequately documented/maintained and updated on a regular basis. Ensure that these and the quality assurance procedures are fully adhered to.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of quality by ensuring adherence to all quality specifications and directives. Work closely with QA personnel in meeting quality requirements.
  • Ensure regular equipment checks are made as specified and planned maintenance schedules are implemented.
  • Participate actively and encourage team members to participate in new developments within plant e.g. Lean Manufacturing.
  • Carry out/manage any other projects or tasks as requested by the Site Director.
Accountability
  • Works under general direction of Production Manager/Site Director.
  • Makes on‑going decisions in relation to:
    • Delegation of work assignments.
    • G.M.P. and housekeeping.
  • Seeks approval and advice in the following areas:
    • Decisions affecting other areas.
    • Major expenditures.
    • Interpretation of company policy.
Qualifications & Educational Requirements
  • 4 Year Degree Preferred
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in high volume manufacturing environment. Experience in Medical industry is required. Pharma Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of basic supervisory skills with ability to plan, organize, control, and communicate effectively is essential.
