Responsibilities

• Create and update Standard Operating Procedures.
• Run competency assessments for direct reports and encourage cross-training.
• Log conditions in the ERP system (SAP) to prevent unplanned events.
• Promote digital tools for shift reporting and monitor KPIs to reduce losses.

Our client, a leading specialty materials manufacturer, is looking for a Production Supervisor to lead safe, efficient and reliable plant operations. You will manage a team of production operators and build a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement, while making sure output, quality and delivery targets are consistently met.

About the Role

Production Supervisor - You will coach and develop your team, support training programmes, track performance metrics and tackle operational issues early, so products go out safely, on time and to specification.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 12-18 production employees in a rotating shift pattern, delivering production goals safely and efficiently. Flexibility to work rotating shifts is required.
• Carry out regular floor walks and regulatory workplace safety inspections in production areas. Log near misses, safety deviations and incidents to protect the team and meet environmental and safety requirements.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and champion site safety initiatives.
• Hold team members accountable for production, quality and training results.
• Plan and deliver employee training so the production schedule is met, costs (overtime, waste) are kept down, and customer delivery dates are hit.
• Write and update Standard Operating Procedures.
• Run competency assessments for all direct reports, and encourage cross-training so employees can operate multiple processes.
• Prevent or correct issues that could affect the production and cost plan. Log conditions needing attention in the ERP system (SAP) to head off major unplanned events.
• Promote the use of digital tools for reporting shift events, downtime and output. Monitor key KPIs, respond quickly when performance moves outside normal operating limits, and recommend ways to reduce losses.
