Job summary

Akamai Technologies is looking for a Production Service Engineer II on the Change Safety Optimization (CSO) Team. You’ll maintain the stability, safety, and high availability of global network infrastructure, deploying critical software and configurations across 350k+ servers and driving operational improvements.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams to isolate bugs and implement robust resolutions, monitor and troubleshoot HA environments, and apply scripting, SQL, and networking knowledge to

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience administering Linux/Unix systems in large-scale content distributed environments.
• Proven experience monitoring, administering, and troubleshooting high-availability platform environments.
• Solid understanding of SQL and scripting languages (Python, Bash, Shell).
• Good working knowledge of core networking technologies and internet protocols (TCP/IP, WAN, DNS).
• Problem-solver with SME collaboration skills to identify issues and implement robust resolutions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic, changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Deploying critical software, metadata, network, and platform changes safely and efficiently across global networks.
• Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues to maintain platform stability.
• Identify, design, and implement operational process improvements for change safety and efficiency.
• Continuously improve internal tools, monitoring alerts, procedures, and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and SMEs to isolate bugs and craft long-term resolutions.
