Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Production Service Engineer II to maintain stability, safety, and high availability of Akamai’s global network infrastructure. You will deploy software, metadata, and platform changes across distributed networks and work with SMEs to resolve complex issues.

You will focus on monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing change safety while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive long-term improvements and tooling enhancements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years administering Linux/Unix systems in large-scale content distributed environments.
• Proven experience with monitoring, administering, and troubleshooting high-availability platforms.
• Solid understanding of SQL and scripting languages (Python, Bash, Shell).
• Good working knowledge of core networking technologies and internet protocols (TCP/IP, WAN, DNS).
• Demonstrated ability to partner with SMEs to identify issues and implement robust resolutions.

Responsibilities

• Deploy critical software, metadata, network, and platform changes safely across global networks.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues to maintain platform stability.
• Identify and implement operational improvements to maximize change safety and efficiency.
• Improve internal tooling, monitoring alerts, procedures, and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and SMEs to drive long-term resolutions.
