Akamai, the world’s most distributed computing platform, seeks a Production Service Engineer II to keep our global network safe, stable, and highly available. You will deploy critical software, metadata, and platform changes across 350k+ servers and collaborate with cross-functional SMEs to drive robust resolutions.

The role requires 2+ years of Linux/Unix administration in large-scale content delivery, strong debugging skills, and solid SQL and scripting (Python, Bash).

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience administering Linux/Unix systems in large-scale content distributed environments.
• Proven experience in monitoring, administering, and troubleshooting high-availability platform environments.
• Solid understanding of SQL and scripting languages (Python, Bash, Shell).
• Good working knowledge of core networking technologies and Internet protocols (TCP/IP, WAN, DNS).
• Demonstrated ability to partner with SMEs to identify issues and implement robust resolutions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Deploying critical software, metadata, network, and platform changes safely and efficiently across global networks.
• Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues to maintain platform stability.
• Identify and implement operational process improvements that boost change safety and efficiency.
• Continuously improve internal tools, monitoring alerts, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and SMEs to isolate bugs and implement long-term resolutions.
