You will ensure the stability, safety, and high availability of Akamai's global network infrastructure, deploying critical updates across networks and driving operational improvements to enhance change safety. The role requires 2+ years of Linux/Unix administration in large-scale environments, strong scripting and SQL skills, and the ability to work with SMEs to resolve complex

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience administering Linux/Unix systems in large-scale content-distributed environments.
• Proven experience in monitoring, administering, and troubleshooting high-availability platform environments.
• Solid understanding of SQL and scripting languages (Python, Bash, Shell).
• Good working knowledge of core networking technologies and internet protocols (TCP/IP, WAN, DNS).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to implement robust resolutions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Eligibility to obtain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deploying critical software, metadata, network, and platform changes safely, accurately, and efficiently across all global networks.
• Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues to maintain platform stability.
• Identify, design, and implement operational process improvements to maximize change safety and efficiency.
• Continuously improve internal tools, monitoring alerts, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and SMEs to isolate software/platform bugs and implement long-term resolutions.
