Job summary

RTX is seeking a Product Development Engineer (PDE) for their hardware engineering team in the US. You will act as SME for manufacturability across PCB and Circuit Card Assembly, guiding design teams on BOM, component selection, terminations, and assembly methods to achieve cost, quality, and schedule goals.

You will lead design reviews, collaborate with suppliers, and mentor other PDEs while traveling for onsite support and ensuring adherence to IPC/MIL specifications throughout the product

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience.
• Experience to include PCB manufacturing or circuit card assembly.
• Familiarity with IPC and MIL specifications and design guides.

Responsibilities

• Host and facilitate design reviews with a multi-disciplined team from PCB/CCA concept to manufacturing.
• Provide supplier travel for onsite support and manage communication between RTX and suppliers.
• Mentor teammates on circuit card assembly manufacturing and IPC specs.
• Drive design, procurement and build schedule to meet program milestones.
• Create drawing notes and review Technical Data Package to ensure IPC compliance.
• Perform design for manufacturability analyses; manage BOM for CCA manufacturing and rework.
