Job summary

RTX is seeking a Product Development Engineer (PDE) to join the Hardware Engineering Team in Tucson, AZ. The PDE will focus on internal design activities to optimize electronic hardware for producibility, providing PCB/CCA design expertise and procurement relationships to meet cycle time, technology, and cost goals.

The role emphasizes design reviews, manufacturability analyses, and collaboration with SMEs across disciplines to drive producibility and quality, with onsite work and potential

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM major by start date.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams or projects and ability to multi-task.
• Self-starter who connects engineering disciplines and reaches SMEs easily.

Responsibilities

• Host design reviews and guide PCB and CCA designs from concept to manufacturing.
• Drive design, procurement and build schedules to meet program dates.
• Create drawing notes and review TDP to IPC specs.
• Perform design-for-manufacturability analyses.
• Develop and manage BOM.
• Review supplier data and apply lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Travel to supplier facilities.
